Exploring racial issues in Gruwell’s The Freedom Writer’s Diary and Tatum’s Why are All the Black Kids Sitting together in the Cafeteria?
Racial conflict has been a very problematic issue in America since colonial era. Almost all spheres of society go through such racial tension, even the educational institutions are of no exempt. Teachers need to foster a safe and open environment concerning racial ethnic discussion and exploration for the children.
