Waqas Hassan
Waqas Hassan is our alumni of Batch 2006 (undergraduate) and Batch 2012 (postgraduate) from the ECE Department, SS-CASE-IT, Pakistan. He completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in electrical energy and control systems with merit-based scholarships and exceptional academic standings. He was the champion of eminent annual robotics competition in Pakistan – National Engineering Robotics Contest (NERC) 2009. He was awarded a Sir Syed Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance in Master’s degree. He won the best journal paper award for his Master’s thesis research work from Cogent Engineering – Taylor & Francis Group, UK.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in power electronics and renewable energy systems with a fully-funded doctoral research scholarship from one of the top-ranked universities in the world – The University of Sydney, Australia. He has also been awarded the prestigious Norman I Price Scholarship based on excellent academic progress. He has been publishing research in high-quality and high-impact journals and exhibiting work at national and international forums such as flagship IEEE international conferences. He has been awarded research grants from several national and international organisations in Australia and the USA. He has been collaborating research work with peers and scholars from National University of Singapore (NUS) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. He completed several certifications in Renewable Energy Systems & Applications from renowned institutions such as IEEE, General Electric (GE) Digital Energy, University of Tennessee, USA, Engineer Australia, and Pakistan Engineering Council. He is a frequent review of renowned international journals such as IEEE Transactions and IETs.
