Admission Procedure

Admission to SSCIT is open to all qualified students based on merit and irrespective of their gender, age, religion, or nationality. SSCIT offers following degree programs :

  • B.Sc. Electrical Engineering.
  • B.B.A.

Admissions of Graduate and Postgraduate are typically opened twice a year in the Spring and Fall Semesters and undergraduate once a year in Fall semester.

Students also have the option to take courses under the Continuing Education program without being admitted into a regular degree program. Continuing Education is a non-degree program for working professionals. Our objective in continuing education is to promote quality learning and leadership for those professionals who cannot spare time or fulfill the eligibility criteria for a complete degree program, to take individual courses at their own rhythm.

HEC scholars may be admitted to an M.Sc. program leading to a PhD. However, it is still an admission to an M.Sc. program. They must apply for admission to the PhD program once they become eligible for it. They will have to follow all the admission processes for the PhD program and eligibility criteria established by the UET, Taxila and the HEC. In other words their admission to a PhD program is not guaranteed when they are admitted to an M.Sc. program leading to PhD. The same applies to any student who might be admitted under an M.Sc. program, leading to a PhD.

Credit Transfer Policy and Procedure (For UET Programs only)

A maximum of 9 qualified credit hours (those with a minimum GPA of B, or greater than 70% marks) can be transferred from an HEC recognized university, or from courses earned at SSCIT through the Continuing Education program. Only courses taken in the past three years before the time of registration as a regular student at SSCIT may be transferred. Courses taken more than 3 years before your registration will not be transferred.

Only courses taken at SSCIT and transferred from UET will count towards the CGPA calculation, i.e. the GPA of a course transferred from another university does not count towards your CGPA at SSCIT. Any credits already used to earn a degree at another institution cannot be transferred to fulfill the requirements of another degree at SSCIT. The allowance of any transfer credits is decided by the Admissions Committee of each department.

Student who are interested in transferring credit, must formally apply for the transfer of courses. This includes providing SSCIT Admissions with documentary proof of the course credits studied elsewhere. Documentary proof includes copies of the (i) mark sheet, (ii) transcript, (iii) course syllabus, and (iv) a brief course description, all of which must be attested by the original institution at which the course was taken.
