Mr. Waqas Hassan is a Lecturer at CASE in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. He uniquely specializes in field of electrical energy and control systems. His areas of interest are power electronics, renewable energy resources and smart grid. The main focus of the recent research is on the dynamic issues in the renewable energy systems and their grid integration including photovoltaic, wind and fuel-cell systems. He has given lectures in Circuit Theory, Electronics, Power Electronics, Antenna Design & Microwave Engineering and Design of Electrical Machines to university students at all level from the first year students up to the postgraduate students. Recent activities in teaching involve courses in switched-mode converters, power electronic components, switched-mode converter dynamics and EMC as well as photovoltaic and wind interfacing issues. He worked in Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) during 2010 – 2011 as an electrical engineer. He has been awarded a gold medal for his outstanding performance in Master degree. He is winner of National Engineering Robotics Contest (NERC) 2009.
